At the start of ICD 2021, we started with with a warm welcome to all participants from the headquarter of the ICD. In 2018 we had greetings from two scientists. On the one hand we received greetings from the high seas. Juliana Stachurska was on the German research vessel Polarstern of the Alfred Wegener Institute. On this expedition PS116 she traveled from northern Germany to Cape Town, South Africa, and investigated cosmic particles. Juliana sent to all participants of the ICD: "Many greetings from the Polarstern to the rest of the world! Here, we are measuring cosmic particles, and also investigating the atmosphere, looking for plankton, and mapping the seafloor. Have a great day and have fun exploring the unknown.".
